FIRST DOSE WILL BE GIVEN TO ENTIRE POPULATION BY AUGUST, SAYS MOH

Kuwait City: The first dose will be given to all people registered on the Ministry of Health's vaccine portal by August, officials said. Meanwhile, the vaccination committee said that despite the registration of covid vaccination, about 45,000 locals did not turn up to receive the vaccine. Of those who have registered since last December, not as many have received the first dose. So far, more than 27 lakh doses of the vaccine have been given in the country. The exemption will be available only to those who are certified by the Ministry of Health and pregnant as the vaccine is not mandatory for health reasons.


There are about 40 vaccination centers in the country. The health ministry is also planning to open more centers in densely populated areas. Dr. Butina Al-Mudhaf, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health, said the covid vaccine was given to 95,000 to 100,000 people every day. The vaccination center in Abbasiya has the capacity to vaccinate 6,000 people a day, officials said.
