NUMBER OF KUWAITI CITIZENS WAITING FOR WORK DECREASED

Kuwait City: Four per cent reduction in the number of Kuwaitis registered with the Manpower Authority and waiting for work for more than six months. At present there is a decrease of about 723 persons. The majority of job seekers are Kuwait University students. The number of Kuwaiti citizens waiting for work has decreased.


Currently, 18,168 Kuwaitis are looking for work, according to the Manpower Authority. Since then, the list has dropped to 17,445 in the second week of July. Those with a university degree are more likely to wait for a job.

There are currently 10,153 job seekers in this category. There are 285 job seekers with postgraduate degrees. Earlier, the number was 304. 2,909 people with diplomas are waiting for jobs. A total of 1,184 high school-qualified people are looking for work.
