RENEWAL OF WORK PERMIT FOR PERSON ABOVE 60 IN KUWAIT, ONE YEAR SINCE AMENDMENT

Kuwait City: Tomorrow marks one year since the Manpower Authority Director's decision not to renew the work permits of those who have not graduated from university after the age of 60. Demands were high from many quarters that the controversial decision be reversed.


Sources said the ministry was of the view that a solution should be found by considering the issue humanely. She added that a decision approved by the cabinet would be taken in a few days. The decision to introduce an annual fee of 1,000 dinars to renew a work permit is under discussion. Earlier, it was planned to make 2000 dinars. Sources said that they will also have to take out health insurance.
