Kuwait City: Ambassador Sibi George said direct flights from India are expected to start from next Wednesday. He was speaking at a news conference at the embassy. He said Indian airlines, including Air India, were in the process of launching direct flights to Kuwait. With the launch of the service, ticket prices have skyrocketed to an unaffordable level for passengers. Sibi George said the concerns of expatriates in this regard would be brought to the attention of the authorities in India and Kuwait. The ambassador added that with the launch of the service by Indian airlines, including Air India, air fares are likely to come down significantly and the authorities could be contacted in this regard.


At the same time, with the launch of direct flights to Kuwait after months of waiting, airlines are now charging up to Rs 2 lakh for a ticket.
