KUWAIT CENTRAL JAIL INMATES TRIAL GOES ONLINE

Kuwait City: A special project to make the trial of prisoners in Central Jail online. Preparations for the project were completed on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Correctional Institutions Sector and Sentences Execution and the Public Prosecution. The new scheme will make it possible for defendants arrested in criminal cases to be transferred online instead of being transferred to the Ministry of Justice building.


The project, which will take place in a few weeks, will set up an integrated courtroom inside the Central Jail. There will be a screen set up. In it, the judge can conduct the trial through audio-visual technology. The defendant and the defense attorney will be inside the hall. Arguments and requests can also be submitted. After this, the judge will issue his verdict online, security sources said.
