KUWAITI 'EMPLOYEES' IN OIL COMPANY TO GET BONUS

Kuwait City: Judge Salah Al-Masad, Director of Legal Advice and Legislation in the Council of Ministers, acknowledged the validity of continuing to offer financial rewards to Kuwaiti personnel in Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC). Previously, the financial award for personnel allocated to the divided zone had been halted. The government subsequently requested that the department reconsider its prior conclusion that the award is illegal, citing the Oil Ministry's decision to halt payment of the reward due to the termination of an agreement between Kuwait and the Arab Oil Company.

According to the department, the Council of Ministers approved the retention of the reward for Kuwaiti employees at the Arabian Oil Company Limited in the Khafji region after informing the council about the Ministry of Oil's objections to the continuation of the exchange as stated in the letter of the minister of information and acting minister of oil. It subsequently compelled KGOC to pay the prize in accordance with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries' current regulations. Meanwhile, Nawaf Al-Mahmal, Deputy Director of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), stated that Kuwait will shortly publish its report, which will contain its answer to the United Nations Convention's self-assessment lists.
