PRIVATE SCHOOLS INFORM PARENTS OF 'E-LEARNING' FOR A WEEK IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Several private schools in Kuwait have told parents that beginning on Sunday, January 9th, following the end of the New Year vacations, school attendance will be performed online via e-learning for seven days.

The private school management's initiative follows the absence of guidelines on the subject from the Council of Ministers, which postponed making decisions on the problem because the Corona Emergency Committee was unable to meet during the previous Council meeting.

Private schools are said to have received approval from the Ministry of Education to proceed with their online learning initiative, which is particularly noteworthy given that some expatriate teachers in private schools who travelled during the holidays will be required to adhere to the 72-hour home quarantine period upon their return to Kuwait.

Dr. Marzouq Al-Azmi, the head of Al-Adan Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Unit, has urged for keeping schools open and continuing in-person instruction for pupils. Rather than returning to e-learning, he believes that schools should compel the use of preventative health measures and limit the number of pupils in each class.
