MINIMUM WAGES SET FOR 'EXAPT' WORKERS IN KUWAIT

  • 03/02/2022

Kuwait City: Arab and foreign labour ministries have set a minimum wage for their workers in Kuwait, regardless of whether they are university graduates or not, especially for domestic workers of all kinds, in a new development that supports Kuwait's efforts to combat the phenomenon of residency trade and fake employment.

They explained that if there is a lack of commitment to the pay criterion, the embassies of those nations will impede the ratification of new recruitment contracts. Kuwait's tendency to restrict residency trade and fill relevant deficiencies in their nations is supported by reforms to those countries' labour ministries and the implementation of a minimum wage. The country's labour attachés have taken new efforts to ensure that the recruitment contract is compliant with the worker's educational credential, as well as establishing a minimum pay for approval, especially for newcomers, before they arrive in Kuwait.
