Kuwait City: The National Assembly ratified the bill revising the Protection from Infectious Diseases Law No. 8/1969, as well as the proposal to relax Covid-19 rules, on Wednesday. The following are some of the recommendations for easing Corona-related health regulations: Allowing unvaccinated individuals to travel to destinations that do not require vaccination; not discriminating between vaccinated and unvaccinated children; and those who have received the first two doses of the vaccine are considered fully vaccinated, thus the third dose is not required.

MP Muhannad Al-Sayer, meanwhile, expressed disappointment that His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali, who also serves as Chairman of the Coronavirus Committee, and Minister of Health Dr Khalid Al-Saeed were not present during the session. People are waiting for the decision to relax health laws, he said, and the relevant ministers should have been present to take action. The Assembly Speaker, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, then explained that the health minister had to miss the meeting due to a medical procedure called catheterization.

In addition, the Assembly supported a proposal to establish a medical committee to receive complaints from vaccinated individuals about the vaccine's unpleasant side effects and to report to the Council of Ministers on a regular basis.

It also adopted the report of the Health, Social, and Labor Affairs Committee on the proposed change to Law No. 8/1969, which includes adding Article 17b, which permits anyone found to have broken health standards to pay KD50 as a form of reconciliation without having to go to court.
