KUWAIT'S MERCHANDISE EXPORTS RANK 47TH GLOBALLY AND FOURTH IN THR GULF

Kuwait City: According to the latest World Trade Organization figures, Kuwait's merchandise exports climbed from $40.1 billion in 2020 to $71.4 billion in 2021, ranking 47th globally and fourth in the Gulf. The value of worldwide goods and services exports was $22.3 trillion in 2021, according to data from the World Trade Organization. 


Kuwait's imports increased from $27.7 billion in 2020 to $33.2 billion in 2021, ranking 66th in the world and third in the Gulf after the UAE, which imported goods worth $319 billion and ranked 21st globally, and Saudi Arabia, which imported goods worth $155 billion and ranked 32nd globally, while Qatar imported goods worth $27.9 billion and ranked 32nd globally. It is currently ranked 68th in the world. In terms of total merchandise exports, the UAE ranked first in 2021 and was ranked 17th globally after exporting $425 billion dollars, followed by Saudi Arabia in second place with 258 billion dollars and a global ranking of 18th, and Qatar in third place with 86.7 billion dollars and a global ranking of 41st. 

While mining and fuel products dominate Kuwait's goods exports, the country's commercial services exports totaled $3 billion till the third quarter of 2021 (according to the most recent data available at the WTO), while imports totaled $6.5 billion. Kuwait exported $6.7 billion in commercial services such as information, communication, computer, travel, transportation, and financial services in 2020, while importing $17.4 billion during the same period.
