EXPATRIATE DETAINED FOR SAND SMUGGLING IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: An African national has been arrested for smuggling sand in the Wafra area. The Interior Ministry said the smuggler was arrested by the Criminal Security Sector in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Municipality in Ahmadi Governorate. The other day, a video clip of an African national and his group loading sand from the Wafra area was circulated on social media sites.


The case was registered at the Wafra police station, the ministry said. An African national and other members of the group have been arrested. Authorities said they would take legal action against them. The Interior Ministry thanked the Kuwaiti citizen who played a key role in nabbing the sand smugglers. The administration called on all security forces to co-operate and call 112 immediately if any violations are found.
