Kuwait City: According to Ministry of Public Works sources, the Personnel Affairs Committee plans to conduct interviews for supervisory roles next week for those who just completed the written test. According to sources, the committee intends to fill approximately 35 openings, including 25 department heads and 10 department managers, with an estimated 200 candidates having taken the written test.

According to the sources, the ministry places a high priority on filling vacancies in the next period in response to the Audit Bureau's observations in recent years, where it has the concerned institutions for keeping some supervisory positions unfilled.

The sources explained that the Bureau had warned that if the establishments continued to keep the posts vacant it would negatively affect the monitoring and auditing processes that are carried out by the supervisors in various sectors of the ministry. The sources pointed out that the step opens the door for young national cadres by pumping new blood into supervisory positions and enables them to assume leadership positions in the future to help them shoulder the responsibility in achieving the state’s ambitious development plan. Meanwhile, some principals exercised their authority to manage affairs in their schools when they allowed teachers to leave early in light of the Education Ministry’s decision to suspend classes on Tuesday due to the strong dust storm that hit the country recently, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed that teachers in most of the educational districts reported for work only half-day, while the principals stayed until the end of the official working hours. Sources said some schools carried out partial cleaning of their buildings due to the persistence of dust and completed the cleaning process on Wednesday. Due to the severe shortage of cleaning workers, the administrations of schools decided to hire domestic workers clean their premises until the end of working hours Wednesday, sources added.
