SANDSTORMS POSES A MAJOR THREAT TO GULF, WORLD BANK

Kuwait City: Sandstorms are generating massive economic losses in the Middle East, according to the World Bank. The annual cost of the phenomenon in the Middle East is $ 13 billion. Sandstorms constitute a huge threat to the Middle East, as do health risks. Thousands of patients have been admitted to different hospitals for asthma treatment.


Medical units in Syria kept oxygen canisters. In Iraq and Kuwait, businesses and schools were forced to close. Kuwait likewise halted shipping, while flights from Tehran were halted. This never-ending sandstorm is causing havoc on a critical area for the world economy. According to reports, this phenomena is becoming a hazard, ranging from the price of gas at the pump in the United States to a client in Spain receiving an order from China.
