KUWAIT PLANS TO SPEND $ 7 BILLION ON RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

Kuwait City:  International pressure to contribute to efforts to combat climate change has reportedly stimulated long-term plans for transition to green energy by oil exporting and importing countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This is stated in the report of Mead Magazine. The Gulf states of Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain do not currently have renewable energy capacity.


At the same time, the total power generation capacity of these countries is 20,258 MW, 10,622 MW and 8774 MW respectively. However, the other three Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman, have 442 megawatts, 2706 megawatts and 687 megawatts of renewable energy sources, respectively. According to the report, Kuwait has plans worth $ 7.12 billion to generate renewable energy.
