ISSUANCE OF NEW WORK VISA WITHIN TEN DAYS

Kuwait City: According to the Public Authority for Manpower, the authority is coordinating with relevant authorities to speed up the processes for issuing work permits for employees who will be brought in from abroad; under the new system, issuing a work permit will take no more than 10 days rather than the current three months.


The new approach is being implemented in collaboration with Daman Health Insurance Hospitals Company, which works with licensed hospitals in nations that outsource work to foreign nationals. A total of 4 days, including 2 days in the country of origin and 2 days after arrival, are required for the medical period. 

The authority's board of directors is currently reviewing a proposal to set up a new system to expedite the medical assessment procedure for employees brought in from abroad. According to Al Rai, the goal is to get rid of the lengthy lines at the labour examination centre. At labour examination centres in recent months, there have been instances of swarming and stampedes. additionally to prevent delays that make it take a month to get findings. When it is implemented, the new service will have higher fees than the current one and be optional.
