BARBECUES ARE PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC PLACES, AND KUWAIT FINES UP TO 500 DINARS FOR DRYING CLOTHING OUTSIDE

Kuwait City: A fine has been proposed for displaying clothes or other items to dry on the streets and roadsides. This is stated in the new draft regulation referred to the Council's Legal and Financial Committee in charge of Public Sanitation and Waste Management by Municipal Council President Abdullah Al Mahri. According to the proposal, a fine of up to 500 dinars can be imposed on those who make the roadsides untidy. 


Article 7 of the regulation states that barbecues are prohibited on sidewalks, streets, public squares, public spaces, public parks, waterfronts, and government-owned spaces. Violators will be fined not less than 2000 dinars and not more than 5000 dinars. Article four explains that fines ranging from 100 to 500 dinars can be imposed for displaying clothes for drying or other purposes near roads, squares, and public squares.
