Kuwait City: Kuwait scored last in the current year's survey of the best nations for expats, both in the Gulf and globally. According to Al-Seyassah, the UAE ranks top among Arab and Gulf countries, followed by the Sultanate of Oman. According to a research released by the German "Internations" network, which specialises in tracking the lives of expats living outside of their home countries, the UAE placed first regionally and sixth globally in the list of the greatest destinations for expatriates to reside.

It is also regarded as one of the top ten work locations for expatriates. In the ranking, which comprises 52 countries, Oman scored second in the Arab world and the Gulf area, and 12th internationally.

Bahrain rated third in the Arab and Gulf region, followed by Qatar in fourth, Saudi Arabia in fifth, and Kuwait, which finished last in the global ranking of 52 countries. The index is based on a poll of 12,000 people worldwide, and it addresses aspects such as expatriates' happiness with quality of life, the ease of settling in and working overseas, personal finance in their country of residence, and others. Furthermore, expatriates ranked their financial resources, particularly the prices and quality of housing, food, and health care.
