CANCER DRUG SHORTAGE IN KUWAIT, 70 PERCENT PROBLEM SOLVED

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Health said that 70 percent of the shortage of cancer drugs in the country has been resolved, Health Minister Dr. Khalid Al Said had said. Sources in the Ministry of Health said that further work is being done to improve the treatment services and medical care provided to cancer patients and to accelerate the arrival of drugs related to the disease.


The ministry has managed to address 70 per cent of the shortage of certain cancer drugs in specialist centers. The ministry is preparing to distribute drugs of the same quality to replace the scarce drugs for cancer patients. In addition, the Ministry of Health is also working to address barriers that cause shortages of other medicines for people with chronic diseases. Sources in the health department said that the distribution of medicines specially given to hypertension patients is also being interfered with.
