Kuwait City: According to Abdul Hakim Al-Ahmad, head of the Fresh Dairy Producers Union, the nation consumes roughly 1,200 tonnes of milk and its derivatives per day, but farms only produce 200 tonnes, or about 18% of that amount. 50 farms, including 44 milk producers with more than 21,000 animal heads, 9,505 of which are milking cows, are members of the union, according to Al-Ahmad. These farms generated nearly 74 million litres of milk last year, or an average of 21.5 litres per head per day.

In light of the possibility that the current food crisis could last for a considerable amount of time and repeat in the future, he reaffirmed the commitment of farm owners to attain self-sufficiency in the future and to work with diverse parties in this area.
