ACCORDING TO ESTIMATES, DEMAND FOR GOLD JEWELRY SURGED IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: According to statistics, demand for jewelry in Kuwait grew in the second quarter of this year. According to World Gold Council data, there has been a three percent gain year on year. Total demand for jewelry in Kuwait was roughly 3.8 tonnes in the three months ending June 30, 2022. However, during the same period last year, it was only 3.7 tonnes. 


At the same time, local demand for jewelry has climbed by 22.58 percent compared to the first quarter of the year, when it was 3.1 tonnes, according to the data. However, demand for jewelry in Kuwait was 6.88 tonnes in the first half of this year. It was 7.12 tonnes in the first six months of 2021. There has been a 3.44 percent reduction. According to the research, local jewelry demand reached 13 tonnes last year, up 26% year on year from 10.3 tonnes in 2020.
