KUWAIT LOOKING FOR NEW WAYS TO REDUCE TRAFFIC JAMS AND CONGESTION

Kuwait City:  Members of the Municipal Council have unanimously agreed on the need and importance of developing mass transit in Kuwait to reduce traffic congestion on the roads. The members said that new strategies should be found to further implement the currently successfully implemented solutions such as building bridges, tunnels etc. 


Encouraging people to use public transport instead of private cars by devising awareness and motivational schemes. It can reduce congestion, reduce pollution from conventional vehicles and save the environment. The problem index of traffic congestion is moving upwards. Khalid Al Mutairi, Deputy Head of the Municipal Council, said that Kuwait's roads cannot support the increasing number of cars.
