DEFAMATION AND TAKING PHOTOS WITHOUT PERMISSION ARE BOTH PROHIBITED BY LAW

Kuwait City: In order to avoid breaking the law, the community has been reminded not to photograph or defame people without their consent by the Ministry of Interior's Cybercrime Department. "The law punishes anyone who purposefully abuses and defames others by photographing them without their knowledge or agreement and then distributing it through various media channels," the government claimed in a tweet intended to raise awareness.

In a separate, unrelated development, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) stated that it is eager to monitor Kuwaiti water quality in collaboration with various State authorities; it also noted that the widely-circulated video clip depicting marine pollution and marine life in one of the sites inside Kuwait Bay is old and dates from 2018.
