KUWAIT'S MINISTRY OF ELECTRICITY HAS STARTED ACCEPTING REQUESTS FOR INSTALLATION OF EV CHARGERS

Kuwait City: According to the decision issued by the Minister of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Electricity is preparing to install electric vehicle chargers in homes and various institutions. The order regarding this will be given the next day. In the first phase of implementation of the decision, chargers will be allowed to be installed in seven locations. This process will continue till December 2025. 


Chargers are installed in government institutions, commercial establishments, investment facilities, fuel filling stations, private homes, highways and streets. It has been decided that chargers should be installed in private homes through alternating current so that the electrical load capacity of one charger does not exceed 22 kilowatts per hour. In other areas, installation of AC or DC chargers is permitted.
