In the midst of wild battle in the capital of Sudan, thousands of civilians have fled, and foreign countries are attempting to evacuate their citizens. On Wednesday morning, witnesses claimed that people were fleeing Khartoum in cars and on foot as gunshots and loud explosions shook the city. Officials in Tanzania and Japan said they started preparations to evacuate their citizens. Uncertainty surrounds the number of fatalities brought on by the conflict, but the CCSD reported on Tuesday that at least 174 civilians had perished in the bloodshed.
