Kuwait Allows GCC Residents with Valid Permits to Obtain Tourist Visa at Entry

Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, has issued a new decision permitting foreigners residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to enter Kuwait using a tourist visa issued directly upon arrival at the port of entry.

According to the official gazette “Kuwait Today,” the rule applies to foreigners who hold a valid residency permit in any GCC country for at least six months. This new measure simplifies travel by allowing these individuals to obtain a tourist visa on arrival, without the need for prior application.

The decision also cancels the previous Ministerial Resolution No. 1228 of 2008 and any conflicting regulations, streamlining the entry process for eligible residents from GCC states. This move aims to promote tourism and facilitate easier movement within the Gulf region.
