Saudi Arabia Restricts Housing Supervisor Positions to Nationals with Minimum Salary

  • 27/11/2025

Saudi Arabia has implemented a new localization policy requiring that housing supervisor positions in residential complexes accommodating 20 or more people be exclusively filled by Saudi nationals. The mandate, announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Housing, also establishes a minimum monthly salary requirement of 5,000 Saudi riyals (approximately ₹1.12 lakh) for these positions.

This measure represents another expansion of Saudi Arabia's Saudization program, following recent similar localization announcements for 12 positions in sports centers and gymnasiums. Authorities have warned that violations will result in significant penalties and legal actions against employers who fail to comply. The policy particularly affects the current employment landscape where these positions have typically been filled by foreign workers, including many Malayalis, often at lower wage levels.
