UAE Braces for Unstable Weather: Temperatures to Drop, Rain and Strong Winds Forecast

  • 13/12/2025

Unstable weather conditions are set to persist across the UAE from December 13 to 19, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The forecast is driven by a low-pressure system affecting both surface and upper atmospheric levels, bringing cooler temperatures, rain, and strong winds to much of the country. Coastal areas, islands, and northern regions are likely to experience heavier rainfall at times, with the highest precipitation expected on December 14.

Temperatures are forecast to drop noticeably, with minimums reaching between 12°C and 13°C in some areas, while Abu Dhabi could see lows around 20°C. Maximum temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are not expected to exceed 29°C. Winds are predicted to shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, occasionally reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, which may stir dust and reduce visibility in exposed areas.

Thunderstorms are also possible during this period, adding to the challenging conditions. Maritime communities, particularly fishermen and sea-goers, are advised to exercise caution as the Arabian Sea is likely to be rough, though conditions in the Sea of Oman are expected to remain normal. The public, especially motorists, is urged to drive carefully and stay updated on official weather alerts.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have called on residents to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain or reduced visibility. The NCM will provide regular updates as the weather pattern evolves, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and caution throughout the week-long period of unsettled conditions.
