UAE Passport Tops Global Ranking for 7th Straight Year

  • 10/12/2025

The UAE passport has been ranked the world’s most powerful for the seventh consecutive year, according to the 2025 Passport Index released by Arton Capital. This achievement stands out in a year when many leading passports lost travel freedom due to increasing global restrictions. With visa-free entry to 129 countries, visa-on-arrival access to 45 nations, and Electronic Travel Authorization to 8 more, the UAE passport holds a mobility score of 179—the highest globally.

The strength of the UAE passport is attributed to the nation’s consistent diplomacy, stable foreign policy, and role as a globally influential economic and logistics hub. As more countries seek economic and strategic partnerships with the UAE, they have extended easier travel access to Emirati citizens. This passport power not only enhances personal mobility but also boosts the UAE’s economic competitiveness by attracting investors, professionals, and businesses.

While the UAE continues to lead, several major Western passports—including those of the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada—have slipped in the rankings due to reduced visa-free access. In contrast, Asian nations such as Singapore, which now holds second place, and Malaysia, ranked 17th, have gained significant ground and are challenging traditional European leaders in passport strength.

Despite European passports still occupying high positions, their mobility scores have declined compared to last year, reflecting a broader global trend of tightening travel regulations. In this context, the UAE’s consistent top ranking underscores its sustained international engagement and strategic diplomacy, offering its citizens unmatched global access even as worldwide mobility becomes more restricted.
