Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has disrupted a major drug trafficking operation, seizing substantial quantities of narcotics from a desert camp in the Al-Salmi area. The operation, conducted by the General Directorate for Drug Control, uncovered a criminal network involving illegal residents and a life-sentenced inmate from the central prison who were preparing and storing drugs for distribution.
Authorities confiscated:
40 kilograms of chemical substances
60 kilograms of Lyrica powder
Multiple kilograms of marijuana and chemical paper
500 grams of hashish
5 liters of crystal meth liquid
300 liters of chemical liquid
Two sensitive scales and drug processing equipment
The investigation began with security intelligence about inmates and illegal residents operating drug storage facilities. After apprehending one suspect in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, authorities located his desert camp used for narcotics preparation. Initial investigations confirmed the materials were intended for trafficking. All suspects and seized items have been transferred to investigative authorities for legal proceedings, with officials emphasizing their ongoing, round-the-clock efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect societal security.
