Kuwait Busts Criminal Gang Forging Residential Addresses on Civil ID Cards

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has cracked down on a criminal network specializing in forging residential address documents on civil ID cards. The Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department arrested three individuals—one Asian and two Arab nationals—who manipulated civil data and lease agreements to illegally process address changes for financial gain.

The gang operated by collecting automated building numbers from areas including Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Farwaniya, then inputting false data into official systems to process fraudulent address changes. They charged clients between 40-120 Kuwaiti dinars per transaction. During their arrest, authorities seized 1,694 dinars in cash, printing equipment, storage devices, cameras, and forged documents ready for delivery.

Investigations revealed the systematic nature of their operations, with the suspects admitting to the crimes upon confrontation with evidence. All individuals and seized materials have been referred to the appropriate legal authorities. This operation represents part of Kuwait's ongoing efforts to combat document forgery and protect government data integrity within the civil registration system.
