Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry is addressing a temporary egg shortage through coordinated efforts with producers and cooperative societies. According to Commercial Control Department Director Faisal Al-Ansari, monitoring teams are conducting daily market inspections to prevent price hikes and ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
The current shortage stems from seasonal production patterns where farms replace older chickens with new flocks that require 1-1.5 months to reach full laying capacity. Producers estimate normal production will resume by December 10, marking the end of this renewal cycle.
To prevent future disruptions, authorities have requested companies to implement staggered poultry replacement schedules rather than simultaneous farm renewals. Producers have committed to distributing replacement operations gradually throughout next year, ensuring consistent market supply. The ministry emphasized its commitment to maintaining reasonable prices and adequate egg availability while taking immediate action against any market manipulation or regulatory violations.
