The Indian Coast Guard ship Sartak arrived at Shuwaikh Port on a four-day friendly visit, underscoring the strengthening maritime and security partnership between India and Kuwait. Indian Ambassador Paramita Tripathi described the visit as a significant milestone in the growing defense cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing their shared role in ensuring the security of Arabian Gulf waters and vital shipping lanes. The vessel symbolizes India’s naval capabilities and the professionalism of its coast guard, she noted.
During a reception onboard attended by senior Kuwaiti officials—including Acting Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan Mazen Al-Essa and representatives from defense, interior, and maritime agencies—Ambassador Tripathi highlighted that the event reflected the deep and enduring friendship between India and Kuwait. She stated that the gathering was “not just a celebratory evening” but a testament to years of trust, cooperation, and shared aspirations between the two countries.
Tripathi praised the historical ties linking India and Kuwait and outlined a forward-looking vision for a broader strategic partnership. She pointed to several key areas of collaboration, including maritime security, defense, renewable energy, digital innovation, food security, and healthcare. These sectors represent promising pathways for deepened bilateral engagement in the coming years.
The ambassador affirmed that the friendship between India and Kuwait remains steadfast and that both countries are committed to advancing together toward a more secure and prosperous future. The visit of the Sartak serves as both a symbolic and practical step in enhancing interoperability, mutual trust, and joint capabilities in maritime safety and regional security.
