Kuwait Court Acquits Woman Accused of Witchcraft Due to Lack of Evidence

A Kuwaiti court has acquitted a woman accused of practicing witchcraft and defrauding multiple people, citing insufficient evidence to support the charges. The Misdemeanor Court determined that items seized during the investigation—including cash, herbs, talismans, and personal belongings—did not constitute physical proof of sorcery.

The defendant's lawyer, Abdullah Al-Alanda, successfully argued that the police investigation lacked substantial evidence and that the operation against his client was conducted without a proper warrant or flagrant offense. The court affirmed that the accusations were unsubstantiated and that the seized materials were merely personal possessions, some decorative in nature, with no established connection to witchcraft or fraud.
