A joint Kuwaiti-Polish archaeological mission has made groundbreaking discoveries at the Bahra 1 site in Al-Subiya, unearthing artifacts dating back approximately 7,700 years. The findings include more than 20 ancient ovens, half of a winged owl model, remains of locally cultivated barley from 7,500 years ago, and various pottery items used in food preparation.
The discoveries were highlighted during the opening of the "Layers of Time" exhibition at the National Library, where a Polish scientist received international recognition for her contributions. According to Dr. Agnieszka Bienkowska, deputy director of the Polish excavation team, these findings provide significant insights into daily life during that era, revealing details about food preparation methods, local pottery production using clay mixed with wild plants, and the use of bitumen as fuel. The exhibition celebrates twenty years of successful archaeological partnership between Kuwait and Poland, demonstrating the depth of their cultural cooperation.
