Many Twitter users have lost their Blue Tick, a check mark that signified a certain level of account authenticity. Everybody who wants to keep the check next to their name must pay $84 per year. Copycat accounts are beginning to appear, and celebrities, famous individuals, and government entities are among the users who have lost their verification. Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, had recently announced about the upcoming removal of blue tick. The changes have raised concerns about the dispersion of false information among Twitter's more than 300 million monthly users.
