Parliament in Iran has passed a bill that would impose harsher punishments on women who do not adhere to the Islamic headscarf and those who advocate for them. The bill was passed just days after first death anniversary of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who was arrested by the morality police in violation of the country's dress regulations. Her death in detention sparked massive demonstrations.
