Kuwait imported $1.24 billion gold and precious metals in 7 months

Kuwait's imports of gold, precious stones and precious metals increased by 13.4 percent, or 44.62 million dinars, in the first seven months of this year to 377.97 million dinars ($1.247 billion), compared to 333.35 million dinars ($1.1 billion) in the same period last year. The value of Kuwait’s gold imports amounted to only 165.9 million dinars, compared to 118.5 million, an increase 40 percent represents 47.38 million dinars.


On the other hand, imports of natural or cultured pearls, precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals, ordinary metals clad with precious metals, and manufactures of these materials and jewelry declined by 1.3 percent, or a value of 2.75 million dinars, to 212 million dinars in 7 months, compared to 214.83 million dinars in the corresponding period.
