Kuwait Issues Decade-High Industry Warnings and Closures in 2025

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Industry took unprecedented enforcement action in 2025, issuing 557 regulatory decisions—the highest in ten years—including warnings, closures, and withdrawals of industrial plots. In one recent case, an industrial plot in Shuwaikh was closed after a company was found operating an unlicensed money transfer and safekeeping business on the premises.

The authority has intensified inspections to curb violations such as land encroachment, unauthorized subletting, and unlicensed activities. Officials emphasized that these measures aim to protect state assets, support compliant investors, and ensure transparency in the industrial sector, in line with Kuwait’s sustainable development goals.
