Ministry of Commerce Seizes 1,828 Counterfeit Items and Expired Medical Supplies

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, has conducted simultaneous raids resulting in multiple seizures, including 1,828 counterfeit goods, unauthorized vehicle repair operations, and expired medical supplies. Director of Commercial Control Faisal Al-Ansari stated that inspection teams in Salmiya shut down two shops selling counterfeit products with protected international trademarks and took legal action.

The joint campaigns also issued five citations to garages performing unauthorized bodywork on accident-damaged vehicles and uncovered an unlicensed warehouse storing expired medical supplies with equipment used to alter expiration dates. Both locations were closed, with officials emphasizing zero tolerance for violations affecting public health, consumer safety, or potential security risks.
