Kuwait Research Institute Organizes Beach Cleanup Campaign at Shuwaikh

The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), in partnership with the Kuwait Diving Team and Kuwait Municipality, is organizing an environmental cleanup campaign at Shuwaikh Beach this Saturday, January 31. Under the slogan “We Lead the Change… We Are Committed,” the campaign aims to raise awareness about marine waste and promote social responsibility toward protecting the marine environment.

Campaign head Eng. Masouma Al-Qasimi stated that the initiative focuses on engaging children through beach cleaning, scientific experiments, creative recycling activities, and interactive educational games. Dr. Manal Al-Kandari, a KISR researcher, highlighted the severe impact of marine debris, from ingestion by wildlife to microplastic pollution, and emphasized the need for collective action to safeguard marine ecosystems and human health.
