Ras Al Khaimah to Build Largest Wastewater Plant Through First Public-Private Partnership

Ras Al Khaimah has signed a long-term Sewage Treatment Agreement to develop its largest wastewater treatment plant to date, with a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day. The facility will serve a population of up to 300,000 and marks the emirate’s first public-private partnership (PPP) in essential infrastructure.

The project, led by a consortium including TAQA Water Solutions, Etihad Water and Electricity, and Saur International, aims to upgrade and expand wastewater infrastructure in line with Ras Al Khaimah’s sustainable development and environmental stewardship goals. This landmark PPP sets a precedent for future collaboration between the government and private sector in the emirate.
