UAE Reports 35% Rise in Cyber Fraud; Public Urged to Stay Alert

The UAE Cyber Security Council has reported a 35% increase in cyber fraud, warning the public to remain vigilant against scams delivered via SMS, WhatsApp, and email. Fraudsters often use fake messages promising gifts, refunds, or asking for bank verification to steal personal and financial information.

To stay safe, residents are advised not to click links from unknown sources, never share bank details or one‑time passwords, verify messages only through official channels, and immediately report suspicious activity to police and their bank.
