Kuwait Enters Final Winter Phase ‘Al-Aqrab’; Cold to Continue for 26 Days

Kuwait’s intense winter is moving into its final stage as the Al-Ujairi Scientific Center confirmed the start of “Al-Aqrab,” the last seasonal phase of winter, beginning February 10. The 26-day period marks the transition from winter to spring and is known for continued cold conditions, especially in open and desert areas.

The first phase starting on February 10 will remain notably chilly, with lower temperatures expected at night. The second phase, known as Aqrab Al-Dam, will see a gradual easing of the cold, followed by Aqrab Al-Dasm, which signals the approach of spring.

Although winter is nearing its end, weather experts have advised residents to remain cautious about dropping nighttime temperatures. The seasonal changes during Al-Aqrab are particularly important for those camping or travelling in desert regions.
