UAE to Observe Ramadan Crescent on February 17

The UAE Council for Fatwa has announced that the Ramadan Crescent Moonsighting Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6 pm at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi to determine the start of the holy month. The committee will review field reports from observatories and testimonies submitted from across the country after Maghrib prayers.

Residents have been encouraged to look for the crescent moon on Tuesday evening and submit sightings through the official online platform. The final announcement on the start of Ramadan will be issued through authorised channels once the committee completes its review.
