Kuwait Lets Owners Authorise Drivers via ‘Sahl’ App

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has introduced a new digital service allowing vehicle owners to grant driving permission to another person through the Sahl app. The feature has been launched in coordination with the General Traffic Department to simplify procedures for motorists.

Owners can now issue an online authorisation specifying how long the permission should remain valid, whether for a few days or several months. The approval can be cancelled at any time, and users can also check its status directly through the app without visiting government offices.

Officials said the move is part of Kuwait’s wider push toward full digital government services, aiming to save time and effort for residents while improving the efficiency and accessibility of public services.
