Dubai parking rates may rise again; proposal sent to RTA

Dubai: Public parking charges in Dubai may increase again as parking operator Parkin has submitted a proposal to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) seeking revisions to parking tariffs and seasonal permit structures.

The recommendation, submitted earlier this month, suggests adjusting parking fees and seasonal card rates in a more structured and “scientific” manner. If approved by the RTA and later by the Dubai Executive Council, average parking costs across the city could rise.

Officials say the proposed changes aim to create a fair system that benefits both motorists and the company. Last April, parking fees were revised, raising the average hourly rate from Dh2.01 to Dh3.03.
