Kuwait Denies Reports of Ship Incident Near Mubarak Al Kabeer Port

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has denied reports circulating on some media outlets and social media claiming that a ship accident occurred near Mubarak Al Kabeer Port.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that the information being shared is inaccurate. Authorities said the incident referred to in certain reports did not occur within Kuwait’s geographical boundaries. Instead, it reportedly took place at least 60 kilometres away from Mubarak Al Kabeer Port and outside Kuwait’s territorial waters.

Some international media outlets had earlier reported that an explosion occurred on an oil tanker anchored in the Gulf during a series of recent attacks targeting commercial vessels in the region. According to those reports, part of the tanker’s cargo spilled into the sea following the blast.

The ministry urged the public to rely only on information issued by official sources and avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports through social media. Officials stressed the importance of responsible communication, especially during sensitive situations.
