Kuwait Ranks 40th in World Happiness Report 2026

Kuwait City: Kuwait has secured the 40th position in the World Happiness Report 2026, released by the Oxford Centre for Wellbeing Research.

The rankings are based on overall life satisfaction and quality of living across countries. Finland has been named the happiest country in the world for the ninth consecutive year. Other Nordic nations such as Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway continue to dominate the top positions in the list.

The report evaluates factors like living conditions, financial stability, and social support systems to determine each country’s ranking.

Alongside these rankings, the report also highlights some growing concerns. Excessive use of social media is found to negatively impact the mental health and happiness of young people, especially girls. This trend is more noticeable in English-speaking countries and parts of Western Europe.

The study also reveals that over the past decade, life satisfaction has declined significantly among people under the age of 25 in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Researchers warn that spending too much time on digital platforms is affecting the emotional well-being of younger generations.
