Kuwait Ensures Smooth Border Operations with Increased Security Measures

Kuwait City: Kuwait has strengthened security and operational readiness at its key border crossings during the Eid Al Fitr holiday rush, with Customs Director General Yousef Al Nwaif personally conducting surprise inspections.

During a visit to the Al Salmi border on Friday, he closely reviewed customs procedures and monitored the movement of passengers and cargo vehicles. He also assessed the efficiency of the fast-track system designed to speed up cargo clearance.

The director general instructed officials to ensure smooth and efficient services for travelers and traders without compromising on security standards.

Deputy Director of the Research and Investigation Department, Saleh Al Omar, accompanied him during the visit. Prior to inspecting Al Salmi, the team had also visited the Al Abdali border to evaluate operations there.

Amid increased workload during the holiday period, the director general praised the dedication and commitment of border staff. He also interacted with inspectors and other personnel, extending Eid greetings and appreciating their efforts in maintaining efficient services at the borders.
