Kuwait Urges Calm, Rules Out Nuclear Radiation Threat

Kuwait: The Kuwait National Guard has reassured the public that there is no threat of nuclear radiation affecting the country from neighboring regions.

In a statement shared on social media along with a video message, officials addressed growing concerns about possible radiation risks amid the current regional situation.

Authorities explained that the nearest modern nuclear reactor is located more than 240 kilometres away from Kuwait, making any harmful impact highly unlikely. They also noted that radioactive materials would dissipate before reaching Kuwait’s borders, further reducing any potential risk.

The National Guard emphasized that all necessary precautionary measures are in place to ensure public safety. Citizens and residents have been urged to remain calm and avoid unnecessary panic.

Officials also highlighted that Kuwait remains fully prepared to handle any emergency situation. As a precaution, basic safety guidelines were shared, including staying indoors, keeping windows and openings closed, and following official instructions from government channels if required.

Kuwait is also working closely with international organizations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, to strengthen monitoring systems as part of preventive efforts.

Authorities reiterated that these measures are precautionary and aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in the country.
